I got the story thru a free offer from Kindle. It's taken me a while to finally read what turned out to be excellent. Very well written and descriptive this story takes the reader to the beach. I don't usually pay for Kindle material when so much is offered for free - gives me a chance to read new author's works and gives some recognition. (My daughter has recently self-published an e-book and now I truly realize the importance of a review) I see myself willing to buy more from this author. I'd recommend this story and author. Great work!Product details

Ghosts of Past and Present From "Short Cuts" a short story collection eBook Erik Boman Reviews
This is a well written story with quite a twist in the telling. Sometimes the past is worth fighting for. Read it and see.
A well-written short story reminding us that it is never too late to change one's life, no matter what our past is like.
I just LOVED this author's use of descriptive language, for example "sooty support columns jutting up from the sands like the ribcage of a skeletal leviathan" (location 22). I didn't really understand what the ghosts wanted, but I still enjoyed this one a lot. Highly recommended!
Writers, take note this is how you write a psychological thriller. There are layers, not only of suspense and entertainment, but of meaning and themes, well woven together into a crackerjack end product. A slow start to rope in the reader, get her interested in the main character, then turn it loose. I read the climax with my jaw hanging open. Note to self get more by this author.
Nicely done; evocative descriptive work, though a bit predictable in its allegory. Still, well told. Could use just a bit of proofreading.
